Can motivation and intentions of parental support predict musical achievement before the commencement of musical studies at the elementary school level?

چکیده

Admission procedures to elementary school in Music Conservatoires Portugal consist the assessment of aural aptitude. This investigation aims at assessing power aptitude predicting future musical achievement as well two other variables for same purpose: motivation and intentions parental support. For that matter, our sample includes cohort admitted candidates their parents 2019 2020 academic year. We used a longitudinal approach followed during 2021 years. Questionnaires were administered both children collect information on learn instrument anticipation support provision. Our results point that, after 2 years music education, neither tested able predict students’ achievement. These suggest model admission based must be rethought this line could revisited later when enters middle assess again
